Day
1: USA Departure
Depart your hometown, arrive in New York and depart in the evening for
Oslo, Norway.
Day 2: Oslo Arrival
Arrive in Oslo at 9:00 AM local time. Half-day orientation tour of beautiful
Oslo. In the afternoon we recommend strolling in the Aker Brygge area
for outdoor dining, shopping and local entertainment. Overnight in downtown
Oslo hotel. Day 3: Oslo Morning sight-seeing in Oslo includes a visit
to the Viking Ships Museum, The Kon-Tiki Museum and famous Vigeland
Sculpture Park. In the afternoon see the Holmenkollen ski jump and Olympic
Ski Museum.
Day 4:
Oslo-Hamar-Lillehammer-Gjovik
Morning departure from Oslo to the Olympic region of Norway known as
Troll Park. Experience the Scandinavian and Norwegian holiday dream
in one place; the highest mountains, the longest valleys and the largest
lakes. Visit Victorian Hammar and the hillside village of Lillehammer,
both famous hosts for the last winter Olympics. Lunch at Troll Amusement
Park. Overnight in the small village of Gjovik.
Day 5:
Lillehammer
After breakfast visit the famous outdoor Museum Maihaugen at Lillehammer.
Enjoy the afternoon shopping on the walking street "Storgata," famous
for its crowds during the Olympics. Overnight in Gjovik. Day 6: Gjovik
- Fagernes After breakfast depart for the cozy mountain village farm
town of Fagernes. Visit the Valdres Museum of Folklore to examine the
wonderful collection of national costumes from all over Norway. Dinner
and overnight in Fagernes.
Day 7:
Fagernes-Beitostolen-Geiranger-Nordfjordeid
After breakfast depart Fagernes to Beitostolen then onward pass the
mountains of Jotunheimen (the steepest mountains in Norway). Continue
to Geiranger, the most famous fjord in all Norway. One after the other
the fjords carve their way miles into the countryside, surrounded by
sheer mountains, awesome glaciers, untamed waterfalls, and flourishing
gardens. Lunch at Geiranger Fjord. Continuing to Nordfjordeid by way
of Hornindal. Overnight at Nordfjordeid.
Day 8:
Nordfjordeid-Briksdalen-Forde
After breakfast a ferry ride across the fjord to the Briksdalen Glacier,
the most famous glacier in Norway. Experience the glacier first hand
as specially equipped horse drawn sleigh transports you directly onto
the glacier. Overnight in Forde.
Day 9:
Forde-Balestrand-Hardanger
Another fantastic day in the land of the fjords. After breakfast pass
the mountain plateau of Gaularfjell until you arrive at Balestrand,
the most famous spot at Sognefjord. Lunch at the quaint Kvikness Hotel
and it's another ferry ride across the fjord to your elegant hotel offering
fantastic views of the fjord.
Day 10:
Hardanger-Bergen
While in fjordland, we make use of another ferry ride in the Hardangerfjord
from Ulvik to Nordheimsund. In the afternoon stop at Stendalsfossen
Water Falls before continuing on to Bergen.
Day 11:
Bergen
In the city where locals' proclaim "we're not from Norway, we're from
Bergen," there's a full-day of sight-seeing in the capitol of the fjords.
Visits include the famous composer Griegs' home "Troldhauger," the Hanseatic
Museum, and the Bryggen fish and flower market. Overnight in Bergen.
Day 12:
Bergen - Norefjell
Morning tour to the Isle of Sotra. Lunch at the Marsteinen Fjord Hotel.
Afternoon at leisure for shopping or strolling along the walking street.
Farewell dinner tonight. Overnight in Bergen.
Day 13:
Norefjell-USA
Transfer to the airport for your homeward flight.

Copenhagen
Extension
Day 1:
Copenhagen arrival
Morning arrival in Copenhagen. Meet local guide and enjoy a half day
orientation tour. Transfer to the hotel after 12:00 noon.
Day 2:
Copenhagen
Full-day sight-seeing in Copenhagen. Awarded the Capitol of the year
for Culture in Europe in 1996 there are many places to see and visit.
Visits to the cathedral of Roskilde and Hamlet's Castle Kronborg. Overnight
in Copenhagen suburb.
Day 3 -
Copenhagen
Free day for independent activities and shopping. We highly recommend
the famous shopping street "Stroget" where no cars are allowed. Here
you will find "The Illums," the largest shopping center in Copenhagen.
Day 4
- Copenhagen departure
Morning free for lazy minute independent activities. Transfer to the
Queen of Scandinavia coastal steamer for a 5:00 PM departure to Oslo,
Norway, or transfer to the airport for departure.
